LENTEN ALMSGIVING: LIVE LENT WITH LOVE
Each Lent, our parish Outreach Committee selects an almsgiving effort for us to support as a church family. Almsgiving is the act of giving of one’s wealth for the benefit of others and is an integral part of a traditional observance of Lent. For years, the St. Mary’s community have chosen a single focus to pour into together each Lent.
This year, we are collecting funds for the Community Housing Coalition of Madison County, a trusted partner of St. Mary’s since 2012 who is a strong leader in recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene.
There are multiple ways that you may give to this Lenten practice:
- Place your offering in the basket in Moseley Hall during Wednesday night suppers.
- Place your offering in the basket in the Narthex on during Sunday morning worship.
- Bring your offering to the church office during business hours.
- Give online by clicking here. Be sure to write “Lenten Almsgiving” in the memo section.
Checks may be made out to St. Mary’s Episcopal Church with "Lenten Almsgiving/Community Housing Coalition of Madison County" in the memo line. God bless you!
